Lutheran Valley Ranch, together with our sister organization, Lutheran Valley Retreat, was formed in 1959 by a small group of dedicated Christian families of the Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod. This venture of faith carried with it the two purposes of (one) providing a Christ-centered mission outreach to children and adults through an outdoor ministry; and (two) providing an environment where the sponsors of this activity could relax with fellow Lutherans in the magnificent Colorado mountains.

Lutheran Valley Retreat, a non-profit religious corporation, is dedicated to the first of these purposes, offering a complete year-round program for all ages with a lodge, a dining hall, bunk-houses, and shower facilities on 240 acres.

Lutheran Valley Ranch (which does not qualify legally as a religious organization) was created for the second purpose and occupies some 640 adjacent acres. Membership in Lutheran Valley Ranch is intended for Lutherans in good standing. Lutheran Valley Ranch is located in the middle of Pike National Forest in Central Colorado. Lutheran Valley Ranch offers a relaxing and wooded mountain retreat for families of all ages. Current LVR facilities and activities include: Hiking, fishing, canoeing, horseshoes, wildlife observation, and during the summer, Sunday morning church services. The Ranch House facility has restrooms and shower facilities along with an ice machine, wireless internet and kitchen facilities. Family campgrounds in the Retreat area are available on a fee for use basis. The Ranch House meeting room is available for family reunions, weddings or meetings (fee applicable).
